Red Light Therapy

As of June 12th 2023 I will not be taking on new bowen clients

Service as normal for existing or previous clients.

Red Light Therapy or RLT originally began when NASA experimented with it on plant growth in space. They went on to use RLT to heal astronaut’s wounds, which then naturally prompted further investigation into its other potential uses.

Today, Red Light Therapy is used for inflammation, pain, swelling and scars or in the beauty industry for skin care and collagen promotion.

How does Red Light Therapy Work?

RLT strengthens the anti-inflammatory and antioxidant defences in the body cultivating the overall health and resilience of cells. Red light waves also increase blood flow, thus improving nutrient and oxygen delivery to cells throughout the body.

Red Light Therapy has also proven to be beneficial for treating various types of pain, including joints, osteoarthritis, fibromyalgia, chronic pain, and more. RLT provides a targeted pain relief, making it versatile for various conditions.

Red Light Therapy Treatments

  • Healing wounds
  • Improving scars
  • Reduce stretch marks
  • Pain relief
  • Fibromyalgia

I use Red Light Therapy alongside other treatments such as Mcloughlin Scar Tissue Release® as they work wonderfully together. I use it on myself to good effect.

Helpful Red Light Therapy FAQs

Who can use Red Light Therapy?

Red light therapy is completely safe and non-invasive, meaning it can be used by anyone at any age.

Is Red Light Therapy Safe?

Red light therapy is not associated with any side effects. Unlike ultraviolet (UV) light from the sun or tanning booths, both associated with harmful skin conditions, RLT does not use this type of light. Instead, it delivers low-energy red and near-infrared (NIR) light waves to the body, penetrating up to 5 - 10cm below the surface of the skin. The longer wavelength (NIR) light targets deeper tissues like muscles, tendons, nerves, and bone making Red Light Therapy a very versatile healing tool.

What are the benfits of Red Light Therapy

RLT can help with health, performance, and recovery.

We don’t have to ‘put up with’ pain. I have treatments available that are known to help soothe and ease painful conditions.
