As of June 12th 2023 I will not be taking on new bowen clients
Service as normal for existing or previous clients.
Shoulder problems often originate in the pelvis and a caesarean scar can cause backache. Consider that the surgeon is cutting through multiple layers of anatomy: the epidermis or skin surface; subcutaneous fat; fascia or connective tissue and uterine muscle, so the visible scar you see on the surface is but the tip of the iceberg. The McLoughlin Scar Tissue Release Technique® can address scar issues
That old song “Dem Bones” was kind of getting it
Well, your toe bone connected to your foot bone
Your foot bone connected to your heel bone
Your heel bone connected to your ankle bone
Your ankle bone connected to your leg bone
Your leg bone connected to your knee bone
Your knee bone connected to your thigh bone
Your thigh bone connected to your hip bone
Your hip bone connected to your back bone
Your back bone connected to your shoulder bone
Your shoulder bone connected to your neck bone
Your neck bone connected to your head bone…
However, we know that the bones are connected together by ligaments and tendons that insert into the bones and the muscles that join everything up.
The muscles are all connected by the fascia.
It’s not long ago that medical students used to chuck it in the bin but now know better.
Underneath your skin you have a complete suit of superficial fascia. To give you an idea how it can affect you ask a favour of friend wearing a non-stretchy full sleeved shirt. Ask them to raise their right arm. Then hold the shirt tight at the right hip and ask them to do it again.
We have fascia throughout our body extending from head to toe. It surrounds every muscle and each fibre of each muscle as well as every bone, nerve, blood vessel and organ. If you eat meat, it's the white stringy bits.
The Bowen Technique works very much with the fascia. Sometimes I think it’s like plucking a guitar string and whole string vibrated so when I make a move on one part of the body the energy travels up and down the fascia…
Bowen also works with the Lymphatic system and some Bowen moves are particularly good for this. I plan on attending a specific training to learn more about his when we are allowed to work again.
"I have found Bowen to be very helpful and Sue to be a consummate professional with a heartfelt compassionate and caring approach to her clients. After various riding accidents over the years my body has responded with aches and pains in protest. Since my Bowen treatments I have been able to move with greater ease and flexibility. I thoroughly recommend Sue as practitioner."
